Easy Access to Explore Maui
Kihei is one of the most convenient home bases on the island. It’s about a 20‑minute drive from Kahului Airport (depending on traffic), and unlike West Maui — which is more isolated — Kihei puts you within easy reach of the North Shore, Upcountry, Iao Valley, Maalaea, and Lahaina. If you want to explore different parts of Maui without long drives, Kihei is ideal.
A Huge Variety of Dining Options
From fine dining to food trucks, shave ice stands, and roadside Huli Huli chicken, Kihei has more dining choices than any other town on Maui. (Lahaina is the closest rival.) Simply put: Kihei has great restaurants — and lots of them. You won’t go hungry here.
Shops, Activities & Local Energy
Kihei is a lively beach town with a fun, easygoing vibe. The town stretches for miles along the ocean, offering a mix of shops, markets, restaurants, and activities.
